This is a movement to keep Career Day Alive for 2020. It's teachers and professionals coming together to find creative solutions!
MISSION & HISTORY.
A Virtual Career Day is a highly-structured Career Awareness activity in which business partners from a variety of companies come together via video to share information about their company, their job, and the education and skills that are required for success in their career.
Many schools had already lined up all of their career day activities, only to have it all put on "halt".
Given the effects that COVID-19 has had on children staying home for the remaining 2020 school year, we've come together to keep career day alive!
Designed to meet specific learning objectives in a virtual environment, a Virtual Career Day helps students connect what they’re learning in school with the workplace. They watch videos of speakers, learning information about the industry and the career options it provides. They may also learn about the education required for entry into the industry and participating business’s role in the local economy.
Sustaining and growing the Virtual Career Day Initiative of NationalCareerWeek.org depends on schools and participating employers coming together.
